What to see in Muro
Muro is the ideal place to discover the traditional stone architecture of Mallorca as well as its scenery and proximity to the mountains.
Must-see attractions include the Gothic church and convent of Santa Anna dating from 1560, the restored San Juan Bautista Church or the Muro Ethnological Museum, located in a 17th-century mansion called the Casa Alomar (1670).
The area is also home to the pristine natural beach of Playa de Muro, an ideal place for soaking up the sun. But if there is one place in Muro that you absolutely must see, it has to be S'Albufera Natural Park, a conservation area for local flora and fauna.

Nearby beaches
With crystal-clear, shallow waters, Playa de Muro is a beach with around 6km of fine white sand. Ideal for spending a day doing water sports or just soaking up the sun, this is a place that has it all: peace, leisure activities and great restaurants and bars. Other nearby beaches and coastal areas that are worth a visit include Son Serra de Marina or Colonia de San Pere.

Hiking routes
The proximity to the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and a location in the centre of the island make Can Ribera by Zafiro an ideal base for hiking in Mallorca. Enjoy the GR-221 routes through the Sierra or a choice of paths and trails that head out from Muro. Examples include the routes from Muro to Santa Margalida (6.7km), Muro to Sa Pobla (5.5km) or Muro to Can Picafort (11km).
